WMA is listed among the common audio inputs. Add a file and inspect its media information before converting a collection; codec variants, damaged files or access protection can prevent decoding.
Select an MP3 preset in the Audio group when the receiving app or player requires MP3. The result is a separate audio copy that you can open or transfer yourself.
Choose MP3 from the WMA source instead of making unnecessary intermediate copies. MP3 encoding is lossy, and converting again at a higher bitrate cannot recover detail discarded earlier.
Queue several files or a folder, set shared output preferences and override individual jobs if needed. Review your destination and check a converted file on the intended player.
Open Freemore Audio Video Suite and add the files. Confirm that the source media can be read.
Choose MP3 in the Audio group and adjust available quality or bitrate settings to suit your destination.
Set the output folder, start conversion and open the saved MP3 before processing a larger batch.
| Option | When to choose it | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Convert to MP3 | You need a compressed copy for another player. | Test that the source decodes and the output plays. |
| Export PCM WAV | A particular editing workflow asks for WAV. | WAV cannot restore lost source information. |
| Investigate an unreadable source | Import or conversion fails. | Check file integrity and access restrictions first. |
WMA is a supported input. Some files may not open because of unsupported codecs, damage or access restrictions.
Do not rely on the suite to remove DRM or access restrictions. Use an accessible source that you have permission to convert.
MP3 conversion uses lossy encoding. Choose suitable quality settings and listen to the result. A higher bitrate cannot restore information already missing from the WMA.
