Prepare the DVD structure before writing a disc

Arrange videos as DVD titles

Review your videos' order in the authoring title list and trim unwanted footage. DVD-Video authoring builds a playable disc structure, which differs from copying MP4 files to a data disc.

Choose the disc's playback settings

Select PAL or NTSC and a 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio appropriate for your intended player. Choose 4.7 GB or 8.5 GB capacity and an available quality mode. Automatic best fit balances encoding against the chosen disc capacity.

Add a menu and build the output

Choose an interactive menu theme: Ocean, Cinema or Light. Generate a VIDEO_TS folder, an ISO image or both. The folder contains the DVD structure; the ISO packages it for burning.

Burn after the ISO is ready

Burn ISO opens Windows disc-image burning. Writing requires a compatible DVD writer, blank media and Windows support. Keep the ISO to burn another copy without authoring again.

How to create a DVD folder or ISO

1. Add and arrange videos

Queue your source files, make any needed trims, and check the title order.

2. Open Create DVD

Choose the disc name, PAL or NTSC, aspect ratio, capacity, quality and menu theme.

3. Build the DVD

Choose folder, ISO or both and start authoring. Review the output and any reported errors.

4. Write a disc if needed

With a suitable writer and blank disc available, use Burn ISO to open the Windows burning workflow.

DVD creation questions

Can I make a DVD from MP4 videos?

Yes, when the source files can be decoded. Add the videos and use Create DVD to build DVD-Video output.

Is the Suite a standalone disc burner?

It authors folders and ISO images. Burn ISO invokes Windows disc-image burning; physical burning requires suitable hardware, media and system support.

Can I copy a protected movie DVD?

No. Protected sources are rejected. The Suite can import logical titles from supported unencrypted DVD-Video folders.

Does DVD creation keep my video in 4K?

No. DVD-Video uses DVD-compatible output. The Suite has separate Blu-ray authoring, but it does not provide 4K UHD Blu-ray authoring.
